CC9 – The First Fallen

another-project

A CC9 has fallen. I went a bit into this in the announcement: http://www.buildersociety.com/threads/the-9-live-traffic-leak-case-study.360/#post-4229 – but I wanted to talk a bit more about this while moving forward into 2015.

In the last month I’ve come to accept certain facts about humans. The one fact which I may have been reluctant to accept fully even though I preached it is – I cannot be the fire or your flame for your motivation. Either they want it, or they don’t – time will tell. You can pretend and lie to people around you but you cannot lie to yourself, you cannot believe the lie cause that’s negates A = A.

If you don’t really want to move forward in life, if you don’t want to be at the top of your game, or if you don’t want to do a specific project, you’ll do everything in your power not to do it, even to the point of self-sabotage – mentally if not physically.

The thing about a bootcamp is, is that you find out really whether you want to win at this project or this goal or not when you have to spend 8+ hours of research for a single project. If you are passionate about it, you’ll get it done no matter what, but if you are not, you’ll prolong the situation as much as possible. I unfortunately have the feeling more CC9s will fall before this is over, but those that are left will truly have the desire to win no matter what.

You have to really think about this, if you had nothing else to do but this one project, and you had to work on it 18+ hours a day for 7 days for 2 to 3 years – would you? You don’t have to be passionate about the business you are in, but you do have to have the will to keep on a goal and a path if you are passionate about the end results. If you can’t see yourself doing something for 8+ hours without any foreseeable immediate reward – then whatever path you are on isn’t for you.

People have these New Years Resolutions and all – and it’s good to reflect on your life and what you need to change, but you should do it more then once a year, maybe once a month – but if you find yourself not “finishing” ANYTHING ever – then you should really sit back and think about what it is you want – maybe the path you are trying to force yourself down just isn’t for you, and you’ll be more happier down a different path.

I know one thing, If I had to sit here and code or market SERPWoo for 18+ hours a day for the rest of my life, I’d be completely happy and fine with it, cause I love every aspect of it. You may not have to love the product or service you are selling, but you have to enjoy some aspect of it, whether it’s a happy customer, overcoming a difficult coding challenge, or just seeing your hard work being put to use so people can get a benefit or make their lives easier – it’s not really about the money, it’s about doing something you love at a certain point.

You can run a MFA (Made For Adsense) empire as a gig and make good dollars or whatever, but after a couple of years or so, you’ll get bored if that’s not what you are passionate about. It happens to everyone, even me… The next challenge is finding out what you want to do with your life and if you can get paid to do it – that’s even better.

I’m a marketer I love it. I’m a coder – I love it. Just happens with SERPWoo I’m able to do both things I’m passionate about.

The bootcamp has also taught me a valuable lesson – if the student is not ready, they are not ready. “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”.

You cannot force a mind.

  1. Do you plan to replace his/her place in the CC9. I would love to get into it, even though others are already ahead. Would appreciate your reply!

    1. No, there were 3 silver tickets which were reserves – making it 12 people in total. Even if all 3 silver tickets drop out, we aren’t going to add anymore if the CC9 drop below 9. It’s a lot of work concentrating on 10 people’s businesses and helping them drive traffic…
